My name is Katie Stockbridge Hollanda and I am the owner and designer of Bugface Belts, NYC. A native New Yorker, I live in the city with my husband Raymond, our daughter Morgan and our three cats, Sophie, Abby and Stinky.

My interest in fashion was evident from an early age when I loyally appeared at each of my parents' dinner parties dressed in one of my newest "creations". I always loved the reaction I would get from their amused friends, which fueled my imagination toward ever more zany outfits. As the years passed, my style was tamed a bit, but my love of color and creative combinations continued.

After graduating high school, I took the chance to join a small traveling circus on the west coast deferring college for one year to re-explore my creative side. The group of people I met there rejuvenated my beliefs in the importance of self-expression and fortified the dream of one day starting my own company. To my parents' delight I did return to college albeit with a couple detours as a trapeze G.O. with Club Med.

In the years since college I have explored the inner workings of an altogether different kind of circus; That of Network News production. While working in the news business I indulged my creative side by making some of my own clothes as well as some eye catching Halloween costumes... each time with the same reaction, "you made that? While I occasionally entertained the idea of starting my own business, my practical side always talked me out of it.

On December 15th 2003, Morgan was born, and with her came the strength and courage I needed to take the leap. Now the challenge was what to call my new company. Bugface Belts, NYC is what I finally settled on. Bugface being a nickname my mother gave me as a child, Belts for the original product idea, and NYC for my home.

I am starting with a line of ribbon belts, visors and totes. In the works are Bugface Barks for man's best friend, Baby bug for the little ones, Bedbugs for the finer linens in life, Sandalias for the summer foot, and down the road, Munk & Malone clothing.

It's one small step for Bugs, One giant leap of faith for Bugface Belts!
